County Hall has warned against illuminating an EV charging site at a busy city junction, fearing it will "catch the eye".
The business is located on the Vulcan Road South crossroads in Mile Cross.
Bright green and blue advertising covers the canopy of the charging site and a large sign sits in the corner closest to the road which Norfolk County Council called "very bold and eye-catching".
While the advertising is currently not at risk of distracting drivers, the authority is concerned it could if further changes are made.

Highways development management officer Kieran Yates said: "I would advise Norwich City Council to consider restricting the advertisement so that it remains non-illuminated, and is solely for the purpose related to the use of the site for EV charging.
"It would be more problematic if the advertisement became used for general advertising purposes and became a digital unit that attracts more attention to it and away from the signalised junction that drivers should be focussed on."
The EV power charging station is owned by the Motor Fuel Group which is the UK's largest independent forecourt operator. It has been approached for comment.
