A serial shoplifter who targeted multiple stores across Norwich has been sentenced after leaving a tissue covered in his DNA at a crime scene.
Thomas Moore, 34, of Stevenson Road, admitted to 16 counts of theft from shops and three counts of theft from a vehicle.
During his shoplifting spree - between December 2023 and September 2024 - Moore was caught on CCTV on multiple occasions being challenged by staff as he left without paying.
He stole laundry products, meat, chocolate and coffee and even tried to steal four handbags worth more than £1,000 but was stopped by security.
He was also linked to a car break-in by DNA on a tissue he had left at the scene.
Moore was due to appear in court on September 10 for sentencing but failed to attend which led to him being arrested three days later where he was remanded in custody.

While on remand Moore gave Op Converter information on 11 other shoplifting offences that he wanted to be considered by the court.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and was handed an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
Moore was also ordered to complete 10 days of the Rehabilitation Activity Requirement programme, 40 days of a Thinking Skills programme and a six-month Drug Rehabilitation Requirement.
Duncan Etchells, staff supervisor for Op Converter, said: “Moore is a prolific offender whose actions have had a huge impact on the stores he was targeting.
“His relentless offending has blighted retailers in Norwich for some time.
"Hopefully he can now reflect on his behaviour and get the help he needs to change it."
