A woman living with her three-year-old son is in a battle with her housing association to get the mould out of her flat.
Lauren Emery has lived in Southalls Way for nearly three years with her son Thomas, and been fighting the issue with Clarion Housing Association since March last year.
The 26-year-old says her son hasn't been able to sleep in his own room for more than 12 months because of an insulation problem in the under-path, below her son's room in the flat, causing mould.
Lauren has slammed Clarion for it's lack of action to resolve the issue, saying: "They started trying to give us a bigger radiator, but heat just disappears in here so that didn't work.
"It took months for a surveyor to even come out, who said there was very little insulation and they'd push to get the place reinsulated, which was June this year.
"I only received an update in early October which was them saying the insulation levels were ok and it was now a housing issue.
"They said a housing officer would arrange a visit - I haven't heard anything since.
"It's caused so many issues because there's mould on all his things like his bed, clothes, teddies and cushions.

"I feel sorry for him because he should be able to have his own room, it's a joke Clarion think it's acceptable to keep us in here.

"Simply cleaning the mould won't stop it from coming back - the insulation needs to be sorted.
"But they just don't seem to care - it's honestly disgusting."
