The afternoon tea at a Norfolk garden centre has been named the best in the country.

Green Pastures Plant Centre, in Bergh Apton, scooped the gold at the Garden Centre Catering Awards.

Its restaurant serves afternoon tea 300 days a year and its menu changes most days.

“We’ve been so proud of the afternoon teas we’ve been creating this year,” director Michelle Evans said.

"Our chefs are constantly evolving it throughout the seasons, often using produce from our on-site farm shop and we’ve even been able to include our homegrown fruit”.
