An inquest has been opened into the death of a retired business manager who was found at home with self-inflicted stab wounds.
Paul Hunt was discovered by his wife on October 29 at their home in Lloyd Road, Taverham.
The 74-year-old was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (N&N) where he died later that day.
Speaking at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, area coroner Samantha Goward said: "Mr Hunt was found by his wife in cardiac arrest and was admitted to hospital with self-inflicted wounds.
“He was operated on but his condition did not improve. He sadly died later that day.”

While the circumstances of Mr Hunt's death are currently unknown, the medical cause of death has been given as self-inflicted stabbing and major haemorrhage with prostatic hypertrophy.
A statement from his daughter confirmed to the court that her father was born on March 29, 1950 in Newmarket, Suffolk.
The coroner is awaiting reports from Norfolk police, the N&N, Mr Hunt’s GP and next-of-kin. A full inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place at the court next year.
