A takeaway shop known for its pizzas and kebabs has been handed a one-star food hygiene rating.
Friends Takeaway, in Bowthorpe Shopping Centre, has been told it requires improvement in both the cleanliness of its facilities and management of food safety.
Following the inspection, carried out on October 7, the Food Standards Agency warned the business required a major improvement in checks made to ensure food is safe to eat.
This includes showing evidence that staff know about food safety and those in charge are confident hygiene standards are maintained.

The agency also stated that improvement needed to be made regarding the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and the building itself, which affects food hygiene.
However the report says the hygienic handling of food - which includes preparation, cooking, re-heating and storage - was "generally satisfactory".
Friends Takeaway has been contacted for comment.
The takeaway offers a range of pizzas, burgers and kebabs.
