More plans have emerged for a new café and bar on the banks of the River Wensum - despite concerns over its outdoor area.

Loungers, which owns Lounge Cafe Bars and the Cosy Club brand, will soon be moving into an empty ground-floor space on the banks of the river.

The company will be opening the site in the newly completed St Anne's Quarter, just a stone's throw from the Riverside entertainment area.

Plans have emerged for the signs at the café and bar, which reveal that it will be called Rivolo Lounge.

A spokesman for Loungers said: "It’s a great area and we are hopeful to join the local community by opening a Lounge and creating between 30 to 40 new jobs.

"For every Lounge we open, it’s important to us that we give back to the community. We partner with local charities to raise funds, our spaces are used for meetings of local groups and businesses, and we encourage customers to use us as a community hub."

Retiree Mrs Patient, who lives in a home next to St Anne's Quarter, said: "It isn't the fact that it is a bar and restaurant, it is the outside area.

"Nothing would be allowed to happen outside after 9pm - it just feels unfair to the people living directly above it, many of who have young families.

"Lots of people are going to be affected by it."

Loungers is yet to release an opening date for the new café and bar.
