Drivers are being warned of disruption as work on the A11 enters its second phase.

National Highways began repairing the road between the Thickthorn roundabout near Norwich and Tuttles Lane at Wymondham in August.

Entering its second stage on November 11, the road will be closed every weeknight from 8pm until 6am.

Estimated to cost around £3.5m, the project will see the disruption last until December 21 - although is dependent on good weather.

A diversion route will be in place, sending southbound traffic via the A47, A140 and A1066 to re-join the A11 at the Munford Road roundabout at Thetford.

Northbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.

A National Highways spokesman explained this work is necessary to extend the lifespan of the road and reduce the need for future repairs.
