The A149 Yarmouth Road at Sutton will close for five nights for resurfacing works on November 18.

A diversion will be in place via the A1062, New Road, Sutton Road and Peter Heigham Road.

The work will take place from 7pm to 5am every night and though the road will be open as usual in the day there will be a reduced speed limit in place for drivers.

East of England Co-operative has had its plans to open a funeral services branch in the former Lidl in Drayton Road approved.

The building will be transformed into four large areas – a customer and admin area, a service chapel area and two further large rooms.

While work on the building is under way, with signs up and new entrances built, no opening date has been released for the new site.

More than 400 flats which will be rented to young professionals are planned to be constructed on the site of the former Marsh building in Queens Road opposite St Stephens roundabout.

The £80m scheme is also set to see the construction of a number of family homes that will be rented to the south of the site.

People wanting to attend the consultations can go to The Forum on November 20 and 21, from 3pm to 7pm.

The public consultation finishes on November 29.

4) Death notice

The work begins in Long Stratton at 8pm on November 18 as Norfolk County Council completes the drainage work.

An official diversion route will be put in place that, according to One Network, will take around two hours to reach the other side of the town.

Spanning more than 71 miles, it will take drivers along the A140 into Norwich before heading around the inner city ring road to the A146 in Ellingham.

Motorists will then travel along the A143 through Bungay to Scole before heading back up the A140 to Long Stratton.

The overnight closure will finish at 6am the following morning with emergency access being maintained at all times.
