A Norwich running shop is celebrating 30 years since opening its doors for the first time.
On Saturday, Sportlink, in Taverham, is marking three decades of serving the local running community after becoming a beloved fixture for runners at all levels.
Owner, Neil Featherby, reflected on the milestone and said: "I can hardly believe it’s been 30 years since we opened our doors.
"Every pair of shoes sold and every runner who has walked through our doors has contributed to this journey. It’s a testament to the hard work of our team and the unwavering support from our community.”
The secret to Sportlink’s success, according to Mr Featherby, lies in its unique approach.
“We are run by runners, for runners," he added.
"Our staff are passionate runners who understand the needs of our customers because they are part of the same community. We don’t just sell shoes; we provide personalised advice and insights that only fellow runners can offer.”
Over the years, Sportlink has become more than just a retail space. It is a hub for local running clubs and events, and frequently hosts try-on events, workshops and charity drives.
Mr Featherby emphasised the importance of fostering a community spirit and looking ahead to the future.
He said: “Building relationships with our customers has always been a priority. We want everyone to feel welcome and supported, whether they’re training for their first 5K or their tenth marathon.
“We’re excited about what the future holds.
“We’re in the midst of another running boom and we want to stay at the forefront of people’s minds when it comes to their running needs.”
