A man who was arrested by police for possessing and threatening someone with a knife in public earlier this week has been named.
Michael Hendry, of Stone Road, was charged by police for threatening someone with a knife and common assault.
It comes after armed police were spotted searching Wensum Park on Tuesday after it received reports of a man, with a knife, making threats.
A police spokeswoman said: "Michael Hendry, aged 67, of Stone Road has been charged with two counts of possessing a bladed/sharply pointed article in public.

"There was one count of threatening a person with a bladed/sharply pointed article, namely a cheese knife and also one count of common assault.
"He remains in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Friday 22 November."
Police were initially called at 4.13pm on Tuesday after reports of the man were made, at a commercial premises in the city.
After initially not being able to locate the suspect, a man matching the description entered the same store at 1.22pm the following day and a knife was seen.
