There are few feelings better than tucking into a mince pie and a warm cup of tea on a frosty day.
Venues across Norfolk are celebrating this with the launch of festive afternoon teas.
Here is a round-up of five of the best to try for 2024.
1. Byfords
Where: 1-3 Shirehall Plain, Holt, NR25 6BG
When: 2pm-5pm from December 2 until December 23
Price range: £11-£32
Mince pies, pigs in blankets, brie bites and turkey pasties are all included in Byfords' 2024 festive afternoon tea.
Those with a sweet tooth can look forward to Christmas pudding macarons, gingerbread gateau opera cakes, fir tree frangipane tarts and melted snowmen.
It costs £32 for adults, £18 for children (aged 6-11) and £11 for under 6s - pre-booking is essential at byfords.org.uk
2. The Assembly House
Where: Theatre Street, Norwich, NR2 1RQ
When: November 9 to January 5
Price range: £19.95-£45
The Assembly House's famous Nutcracker Afternoon Tea is returning for 2024 with a few new additions such as the Pistachio Snowflake Macaron.
It is being nicknamed the Mulbarton Macaron in honour of the Mulbarton Ward at the Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital where the venue's late director Richard Hughes spent time.
Sugar Plum Fairy trifle, Clara's strawberry cupcake and a pink and white chocolate soldier are among the other treats on offer.
It costs £32.50 per adult and £18.95 per child in the restaurant from November 9 until January 5, or £45 per adult and £28 per child in the igloos from November 14 to January 2.
3. The Orangery Tea Room
Where: Ketteringham Hall, Church Road, Ketteringham, NR18 9RS
When: November 23 until December 22
Price range: £16.50-£32.95
Tuck into chicken, cranberry and stuffing sandwiches, Norfolk Nog profiteroles, Sugar Plum Fairy cupcakes and blood orange tarts at the Orangery Tea Room this Christmas.
Its much-loved fruit and cheese scones will also be available.
Prices start at £16.50 for children and £31.95 for adults and diners can choose to sit outdoors on the wintry heated terrace.
Afternoon teas must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
4. The Norfolk Mead
Where: Church Loke, Coltishall, NR12 7DN
When: From December 1
Price: £24 per person
The Norfolk Mead's Christmas afternoon tea is returning for 2024 - so get ready to cosy up by the open fire with a delicious range of treats.
This year's menu includes turkey, bacon and cranberry sandwiches, Cointreau mince pies and chocolate and hazelnut brownies.
It costs £24 per person and must be pre-booked in advance.
5. Lincoln's of Hingham
Where: Fairland Court, The Fairland, Hingham, NR9 4HN
When: November 13 to January 31
Price range: £18-£25 per person
Lincoln's of Hingham is offering The Winter Express afternoon tea between November 13 until January 31.
For £18, visitors can enjoy a selection of festive sandwiches, a rarebit crumpet, a chestnut and cranberry sausage roll, scones, several chocolate sponge cakes, shortbread topped with pistachio cream and a hot chocolate cheesecake.
Tea and coffee is included - or, for an extra £7, diners can add a small bottle of prosecco.
Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
