An American fast food chain is set to open its first Norfolk restaurant.
Popeyes Louisiana Chicken has lodged plans with Broadland Council for a new drive-through outlet at Postwick, on the edge of Norwich.
The company has thousands of restaurants around the world but the closest is currently in Cambridgeshire.
Popeyes is not the only chain to be eyeing the site for expansion, with plans for a huge M&S food hall also emerging recently.
The brand, best known for its fried chicken sandwiches, arrived from the US into the UK in late 2021.
It now has some 50 sites across the the UK including outlets in Cambridge and Chelmsford.
The new plans lodged with Broadland Council would see a new drive-through restaurant with 26 car parking bays built next to the existing McDonald's.

It joins recent plans for a huge Costco and M&S food hall at Broadland Gate business park, as well as Greggs, Starbucks and Burger King outlets.
These applications have raised concerns among local people and councillors who expect a significant increase to traffic in the area.
Broadland Council will consider whether to approve the plans for a new Popeyes restaurant in due course.
