Norwich Open Christmas is appealing for donations to help provide hot meals and food bags for those in need.

The charity says it is struggling to provide this service to all guests due to the cost of living crisis.

As a result, it is turning to the generosity of the community to ensure they have enough donations to meet demand.

Bill Ashton, chairman of Norwich Open Christmas, said: "Each £25 donation we receive helps us provide a food bag for someone in real need.

"And with food banks facing unprecedented pressure this year, it’s more important than ever that we come together as a community to help those who are struggling the most.

"Any contribution you can provide, whether large or small, can make a huge difference to someone facing homelessness or loneliness this Christmas.

"No one should feel forgotten at this special time of year, and your support makes it possible for us to give that sense of community and care to those who need it most."

This year's Norwich Open Christmas event will be held at The King's Centre. The charity had to find a new venue due to major renovations at St Andrew's Hall.

Mr Ashton added: “While we are sad to be leaving St Andrews Hall, we are confident that The King’s Centre will provide a great setting for this year’s celebration.

"St Andrew's Hall has been the heart of Norwich Open Christmas for so long, and we’ve built a strong tradition there.

"But with The King’s Centre, we can continue this vital community event and make sure it’s just as welcoming and festive as ever.

"We’d like to thank The King’s Centre for their generosity and help in ensuring Norwich Open Christmas 2024 can be a success."

Transport to and from the venue is also available.
