A city restaurant is marking a milestone by offering free birthday cake to any hungry visitors.
Chef Richard Ellis took over the Britons Arms in Elm Hill in November 2021, with an anniversary party marking his third year at the helm taking place this weekend.
After previously working at the Wells Crab House and The Ship at Brancaster, Mr Ellis took on the historic spot in the midst of the pandemic - promising to focus on developing their dinner menu, special events and themed dining nights.

“Taking on The Britons Arms was a bit of a challenge, both because it is such a well-loved city institution, and also because just as I took over the Omicron variant hit and hospitality was once again restricted,” he said.

"We have an amazingly loyal clientele, and we are delighted to have reached the third anniversary in such good shape.”
Marking the date, a specially baked birthday cake will be on offer to everyone visiting the arms, until it's gone, over its birthday weekend.
