A couple will reach 10 years of running one of the most popular chippies in the city this month.

The husband-and-wife team behind New Sole Plaice in Vauxhall Street, Ben Gan and Eliz Loo, took over the takeaway in December 2014.

Now the couple has reflected on the last decade of serving fish and chips to customers from all around the city.

"Now we have customers who bring their children in for us to meet which is lovely."

The chippy has a perfect five-star rating on Tripadvisor and is regularly named among the best in the city for the classic British cuisine.

"There is one customer who drives here for fish and chips, eats their meal in their car, and then comes back in to buy some more.

"We try to make the food as good as possible - otherwise people won't come back."

They lived in a small village near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire initially before moving to Norwich after finding the northern climate "too cold".
