The city centre's police station could soon be transformed to bring it up to speed with "the needs of modern policing".
Plans have been submitted to the city council to renovate the Bethel Street Police Station which is a grade II listed building built around 1936.
Although Norfolk's police and crime commissioner is based at the constabulary's headquarters in Wymondham, Bethel Street Police Station remains an important hub and deployment base for Norwich and surrounding areas.
