Celtic are 'very interested' in filling their head coach vacancy with former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke, according to reports from Germany.

Previous head coach Ange Postecoglou has departed for Premier League Tottenham Hotspur, and Sky Germany's Florian Plettenburg has claimed they've turned to Farke to replace him.

The 46-year-old was most recently employed by Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach, but departed after just one season in what they say was a mutual agreement.

City's Championship rivals Leeds United are also an option, states Plettenburg, with reports of the Lilywhites' interest in Farke emerging in recent weeks.

Reports have also linked current Norwich sporting director Stuart Webber with a move to Elland Road after his counterpart Victor Orta was dismissed.

That would mean the pair linking up for the first time since Webber sacked Farke in November 2021, shortly after he'd led the Canaries to a 2-1 away win over Brentford.

Leeds' pursuit of Farke is not advanced, however, and Webber refused to be drawn when asked about the speculation in a recent round of interviews with local media.

Farke's Gladbach side finished 10th in the German top tier last season, one place above their 2021-22 standing, losing more games than they won with 13 defeats from 34 fixtures.

His first job after leaving Carrow Road was with Russian top flight side Krasnodar, but he and his coaching team left the club after just five weeks in charge due to Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

Postecoglou's Celtic beat Norwich 2-0 when they met in a friendly last year, while Leeds will be expected to compete for promotion in 2023-24.

They had three different head coaches across the 2022-23 campaign but couldn't halt relegation, slipping back down to the second tier with a 19th placed finish three years after their promotion.

They competed with Farke's Norwich for promotion in 2019 when Marcelo Bielsa was in charge of the Yorkshire club, but finished third before winning the Championship title the following season.
