Norwich City will benefit from Glen Riddersholm's background and experience as he assists Johannes Hoff Thorup in leading the new era at Carrow Road.
The Dane has worked predominantly as a head coach during a near 30-year career and was the first person to lead FC Midtjylland to a Superliga title back in 2015.
Since, he has managed AGF and Sonderjyske, where he won the Danish Cup in the 2019/20 campaign. Spells in Sweden and Belgium are key factors in why City and Thorup identified him as the best person to help lead their new project.
Riddersholm's name was put forward after Thorup and City agreed that an experienced deputy should follow him to Norfolk to help with first coaching job outside of Denmark.
Thorup is hoping his expertise and experiences abroad help his adaptation to life in England next season.
"He knows the way from being an academy coach, taking his steps from first an assistant coach to a head coach," Thorup said in his first club interview as City boss with club channels.
"He knows the system. He knows how to work with young players as well. He had been with FC Midtjylland in Denmark for a number of years, also famous for developing a lot of young talents for their first team and even bigger clubs in Europe.
"He also has a lot of experience being a head coach in Denmark and abroad, he's been in Sweden and also in Belgium."
As it stands, Thorup and Riddersholm will work alongside current coaching group of Narcis Pelach, Paul Clements and Andrew Hughes next season.
Thorup revealed he has held conversations with each of those he is inheriting as part of his backroom team and is excited about working with the trio.
"Not met face-to-face, but we've had conversations and I have a very good feeling about the coaches that are here," he said.
"It seems that they are very passionate about Norwich City, and the way that we can develop together.
"Talking with Clem (Paul Clements), the goalkeeper coach, his ambition for the future. I've talked with Narcis (Pelach) as well, being responsible for a lot of the training but also analysing opponents together with all the other analysts.
"And of course, Andy (Hughes) as well, taking care of set-pieces. I have a very good feeling, and like I said at the beginning, fantastic people and a fantastic place.
"You have to be proud of it, and I will definitely be proud of being here."
