Recently released Norwich City youngster Dubem Eze has joined League One promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers. 

The midfielder has joined the play-off finalists on a free transfer, having impressed on trial, and will link up with the club's B Team initially. 

Eze, no relation to England international Eberechi, has signed a two-year deal with the club possessing the option of a third. He left Norwich earlier in the summer after the end of a two-year spell in Norfolk. 

The youngster is hoping the move to the north west will help him in his pursuit of first-team football. He is hoping to follow in the footsteps of ex-Norwich midfielder Nelson Khumbeni, who took a similar route after departing City in 2002. 

“I spent seven or eight years at Chelsea and I have to thank that club a lot for my development before moving to Derby and then Norwich where I have just finished,” Eze told Bolton's official channels. 

“It's the next stage of my career here where I’ll be looking to try and break through into the first team at some point if I can and kind of establish my career as a professional and a first-team football player.

“I'm just so happy to be here and to sign for this club. I was here last season and got a taste of things and feel for how everything was going to be and I'm just happy to be here permanently now.

“It was good to play in games for the B team and I also had the period out on loan at Warrington where I performed quite well got a couple of goals and met some of my targets there.

“Overall, I was happy with how I finished last season, and I just want to carry it on into this season.”

Norwich signed Eze from Derby County in 2022 after a spell at Chelsea earlier in his development.  

The teenager played for City U21s six times last term, making 36 appearances for the U18s in all competitions, scoring five times. 

A loan spell at National League North side Warrington saw him impress at the end of last season, scoring twice in his six games at the club.
