Dan Barden has joined National League side Forest Green Rovers on trial with a view to a potential loan move.
The Norwich goalkeeper, who has previously had spells at Maidstone and Livingston, has linked up with Steve Cotterill's men in pre-season with the view to potentially earning himself a temporary move to the club.
Forest Green are now set to travel to Germany for a training camp, where Cotterill and his staff will assess the young City stopper in closer quarters before deciding whether to sign him ahead of next season.
Speaking to Gloucestershire Live, Cotteril said: “We have taken Dan Barden on a short-term period with us from Norwich, he is going to come away with us so we can get to have a look at Dan as well."
Barden recently signed a fresh contract until 2026 at Carrow Road and will be seeking to get his development back on track after setbacks with illness and injury over recent seasons.
Forest Green are in need of another goalkeeping option, with only Jamie Searle and Fiachra Pagel their options in that position currently.
There is a pre-existing relationship with the club after Vicente Reyes spent the second half of the League Two campaign last year on loan at the New Lawn, but was unable to prevent Cotterill's side from falling out of the Football League.
