Norwich City's bold new era will take time to blossom, but assistant head coach Glen Riddersholm won't be using that as an excuse.
The Canaries hired the Dane as part of new boss Johannes Hoff Thorup's coaching team to help implement a new style of play whilst re-connecting the first-team and academy after opportunities for young talent stalled in recent seasons.
Riddersholm will play a key role alongside Thorup in driving City's new era and, whilst accepting the need for patience in the opening months of the new Championship campaign, knows that results must also arrive to retain support from supporters.
"When you draw a line in the sand and you want to go in a new direction, for example with a connection between the academy and first team, we can see how many young players that we've introduced.
"You can look back in your own life when you were young, it was the first time you were there. Then, you get an understanding and experience. It will take time," Riddersholm exclusively told the Pink Un.
"But that is not said as an excuse. I must really underline that. We are here to get results. We share the dreams and ambitions that in the three years we have our contract, we are going to promote. If it happens year one, it would be unbelievable. If it happens in year two, it would be really good. If it happens in year three, it would be expected to be honest.
"Then a lot of things can happen in football, but when I sit here today and look at what we are doing from the top of the organisation all the way through, we have one picture of where we are going.
"Then, to change like a ferry in the lake, it takes a bit of time to adjust all that. Maybe it goes faster, but being in the football business for 30 years, I don't know."
Riddersholm has pledged to work tirelessly to bring success back to Carrow Road, with the clock ticking on the beginning of the Championship season against newly-promoted Oxford United next Saturday.
"I can guarantee that every day I grab the door at the training ground, we are there every day to develop the players, push the culture, the style of play, create results, and that's why we're here," City's number two said.
"I'm not here just to enjoy Norwich - it's a nice city, pubs, churches, games, England, football, nice, no. We and I am here to create something very special."
