Norwich City have continued their development recruitment drive by signing Middlesbrough's AJ Bridge on a permanent basis.

The teenager became the third addition to City's youth set-up after Brandon Forbes joined Dundee United while Billy Gee arrived from Chelsea.

He travelled from Teesside to Norfolk late on Friday evening to become the Canaries' latest edition on a frantic deadline day after an agreement was reached between the two Championship clubs.

Bridge, 19, is a central midfielder who joined Boro as an under-15. He has made 74 appearances for their U18s and U21s during his time at the Riverside Stadium. City have swooped for him to add depth to their midfield ranks underneath the first-team ranks.

He made 18 Premier League Two appearances last season, scoring and assisting on one occasion.

Middlesbrough born Bridge has also featured on the bench for the senior team on seven occasions, including in last season's Carabao Cup semi-finals against Chelsea.

"I'm absolutely over the moon. It's a great club with good ambitions. I can't wait to get going," Bridge told City's official channels.

"I like to play anywhere across the midfield and to get the ball off the two centre-backs and to create chances."
