Here is Samuel Seaman’s verdict on Norwich City, who gained a valuable point as they drew 1-1 with Leeds United at Carrow Road.

Angus Gunn

Another display that underlined the importance of discussions around his contract. Pulled off good saves at times, was quick to play the sweeper role when Leeds went more direct, and largely did well with his distribution.

With Norwich at their free flowing best he hadn't been needed much in recent times, but stellar outings against Derby and now the Whites have reminded anyone who had forgotten just what an asset he is to Johannes Hoff Thorup's squad. 8

Kellen Fisher

The full-back looks not only comfortable as a Championship starter, but like a key player in a team some feel have an outside chance at play-off qualification.

A third consecutive start, and a third consecutive strong performance. In possession he's mastered a complex tactical wrong, tucking inside to give his team-mates an option, and out of it he's already made crunching tackles a trademark.

Adapted well to swapping flanks at half time, giving Thorup yet another option in the ever-changing left-sided debate. 8

Shane Duffy

Exposed at times for his lack of pace, but still plenty of signs of the man who's taken many by surprise in recent weeks.

Often found himself lumbering behind his defensive colleagues as Leeds' rapid attackers moved toward the Norwich box, most notably when Largie Ramazani ran beyond him to fire home the equaliser.

When he was able to get in position, however, he kept the visitors out with a series of typical headers, blocks and clearances. The Irishman's improving on-ball work was also clear. 6

Jose Cordoba

A 52 minutes that largely highlighted why fans were so concerned by the injury problems that forced him off at half time.

Again showed incredible strength, levering opponents off the ball with almost casual ease. Aerially dominant, too, and mostly positioned himself well to deal with balls into the box.

Occasionally went too ambitious with his passing and lost possession in midfield, but he certainly wasn't alone on that front. Fans and he now face an anxious wait on the knee injury he sustained just before the break. 7

Callum Doyle

Also struggled with the pace of the United attack, a weakness that hasn't yet been exposed to the extent that Willy Gnonto set about doing so in the first half.

His good defensive timing and positioning did mean he got the best of some of their duels, but Gnonto was largely the away side's shining light. Doyle looked better and more comfortable at centre-back, even if supporters will hope that Cordoba's fitness allows him to stay out wide.

Good technique and passing as always. 6

Kenny McLean

Another mixed performance from the Scottish midfielder, having started the season so well. Gave the ball away in dangerous areas too often at Pride Park, and unfortunately repeated the trick back in NR1.

He was also fortunate not to give away a penalty when Gnonto went down under his challenge in the second half, and struggled to find the progressive passes he so often starts attack with.

But it's hard to deny his ability to cover ground, and he did get through more than his fair share of defensive work. 5

Marcelino Nunez

Speaking of covering ground, it felt like the Chilean touched every blade of grass three times during the course of a frantic 90 minutes.

The quality got better as the game wore on, but the desire was never in question. Whether it was racing back to his own box to clear or charging forward on the counter, he was so often in the right place at the right time.

Couldn't make it count in an offensive sense, but certainly more positive than negative there. 7

Anis Ben Slimane

Another mixed mag, but the Tunisian showed exactly why Thorup wanted him in his starting line-up for the first time.

He brought a physicality to the midfield that has appeared to be lacking in prior fixtures, matching it with a hunger for the ball that makes for continuous involvement.

Often that involvement including giving the ball away, but in attack he was also a driving force. Now the task it to do more of the latter and less of the former. 6

Ante Crnac

Some incredibly bright signs in the best half of football he's produced in a Norwich shirt. He showed all the technical brilliance he's hinted at previously, without the defensive shortcomings or the falling at the last hurdle.

Lovely work to drive inside and find Josh Sargent with the perfect weight of pass before the American won his penalty, and physically looks like he's getting up to speed as well.

He dropped off rather dramatically in the second half, but if he can extend that first-half display in future then he's onto a winner. 7

Borja Sainz

Showed many of the traits that have made him such a key man this term, but lacked the chances he needed to turn those into something tangible.

A constant thorn in the Leeds side, as he was when they last visited Norfolk for the first leg of the play-off semi-final. Offered a direct, unpredictable and pacey threat on the counter for Norwich.

Couldn't quite get himself into a goal-scoring position, but he can probably be forgiven after his hat-trick in the East Midlands. 7

Josh Sargent

Finally got the goal to match his efforts in back-to-back wins, and in a frustrating display of irony was made to settle for just a point as he did so.

Made the same efforts he almost always had, goal or not, to help his team get up the pitch and create chances, while working like a Trojan to do his bit defensively. 9

SUBSTITUTES

Jack Stacey (on for Cordoba, 45)

Brought on in challenging circumstances amid the defensive reshuffle, and largely kept things quiet in his own half. Disappointingly absent in an offensive sense, when Norwich could have done with more of his trademark thrust. 6

Oscar Schwartau (on for Slimane, 71)

A frustrating evening for the 18-year-old, who first was dropped for old friend Slimane and then struggled to make an impact off the bench.

Got through plenty of running, but gave the ball away far too often and contributed little in an attacking sense. A promising talent, but he still has work to do. 5

Kaide Gordon (on for Crnac, 71)

Technically looked strong, with multiple well-executed passes and flourishes in the Leeds half. Not overly involved, however, and could have showed more of the dribbling skills he was signed for. 6

Amankwah Forson (on for Nunez, 80)

Provided some energy late on. 5
