Johannes Hoff Thorup has lined up his former FC Nordsjaelland first team analyst Alan Arac to join Norwich City.
The Danish Superliga club have confirmed Arac is Norfolk-bound, after working closely with Thorup during his previous stint in charge.
Arac joined FCN in February 2022 following previous roles in youth football with AGF and as assistant coach to Lyngby’s Under-19s.
City have yet to confirm the news, but Arac is expected to be in post ahead of the Championship return after the international break.
"It has been three fantastic years, where all the experiences have been incredibly educational and challenging both professionally and personally," said Arac, speaking to FCN's official site. "I have been part of many different things that have been bigger than I could have dreamed of, where we have both played in Europe, been in the fight for medals and titles and fought to avoid relegation.
"FC Nordsjælland is a special club. Everyone in and around the club puts in a lot of effort every day, and it's inspiring to be a part of. I know he doesn't want it himself, but I have to single out Flemming Pedersen. His great love for football has been a huge inspiration, and he has always been ready to answer mine, for which I am eternally grateful.
"It has been a pleasure to be part of a club that not only says they want to develop young players, but also lives it up every day. The quality of players who have been in FCN in my three years at the club still brings a smile to my face as it has been incredible.
"Now new challenges await in England, which I am naturally looking forward to, but I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in and around the club. I am eternally grateful for everything I have experienced in the last three years."
FCN have already announced Arac’s replacement will be their under-14s head coach, Christoffer Karne.
“First of all, a big thank you must go to Alan for his great work and contribution to the Superliga staff,” said director of football, Phil Radley. “He has been a great capacity both on and off the field, and we will miss his good humour and sharp mind. We wish him every success in the future.
“We are proud to be able to send Alan safely on in his career, and are at least as excited to be able to welcome Karne to the Superliga staff. It is not atypical for us to recruit internally, which we also saw this summer, when Christian Sørensen took the step from under-17 head coach to assistant coach on the Superliga team.
“We have great faith in Christoffer's abilities, where he has proven on our U14 boys' team that he has a keen eye for detail, which we look forward to benefiting from at Superliga level. Despite his young age, we are convinced that he can carry on the legacy of Alan and will form a strong team together with Thor and the rest of the Superliga staff.”
The Uefa A-licence holder is the latest addition to Thorup’s backroom staff at Colney, after the recent high profile arrival of new first team coach Jack Wilshere to replace Stoke boss Narcis Pelach.
Nick Stanley and Tony Roberts were previous hires to the senior coaching pool, following the departures of Andy Hughes and Paul Clements.
Carl Pope stepped up to become the Canaries’ head of performance analysis in August. The club’s former performance analyst, Harrison Glew, also departed for Stoke City in September to link up with Pelach.
