Ben Chrisene has joined Norwich City team-mate Kellen Fisher as a late addition to the England under-21 squad.

Chrisene has been called up to the group for the first time in his career, replacing injured Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah having initially been included in Paul Nevin's Elite League squad (formerly under-20s).

He'll hope to gain his first cap as an under-21 after playing at various youth levels for the Young Lions, including four times at under-20 level.

The full-back makes it two Canaries in Ben Futcher's group after Fisher was promoted on Tuesday, while Callum Doyle had already withdrawn with a minor injury.

Shane Duffy will also stay with his club after he too picked up an ailment that stopped him playing for the Republic of Ireland, although that's expected to be a short-term issue rather than another name on the growing City absentee list.

Oscar Schwartau made a positive start to his international break, scoring for Denmark's under-19s as they beat Northern Ireland 4-0 in European Championship qualifying.

He started on the right wing before being replaced by Club Brugge's Tobias Lund Jensen, with Mikel Kruger-Johnen and Nikolaj Juul-Sandberg also finding the net in an impressive first 45 minutes for the Danes.

The result leaves Denmark second in their qualifying group after the opening games, leading their defeated opponents and Albania but trailing table toppers Israel on goal difference.

Norwich captaincy duo Grant Hanley and Kenny McLean are in the Scotland squad to face Croatia in the Nations League tomorrow, although Angus Gunn misses out with a side strain sustained in last month's win over Hull City.

He's set to return for the trip to West Brom on the other side of the break, however, while Marcelino Nunez will be a late call. McLean won't be available despite joining up with the Tartan Army, having seen his ban extended by a game for his reaction to a red card against Middlesbrough.

Jose Cordoba is in action overnight when Panama face Costa Rica in the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-finals.
