Johannes Hoff Thorup was relieved to see his Norwich City side finally get off the mark from set-pieces in their 6-1 demolition of Plymouth Argyle.
Shane Duffy nodded Emiliano Marcondes' corner home from close range for the Canaries' third goal of the night, claiming his second goal of the season to calm a tense atmosphere at Carrow Road.
The Irishman's finish also marked City's first strike from set-pieces during the campaign, as well as their first headed goal, finding a new avenue for attacking productivity as they topped the Championship scoring charts.
Thorup was pleased to see his charges add another string to their bow in the Pilgrims win, admitting that it's one he's been hoping for.
"It's an area of the game where we haven't been good enough so far this season," he said. "I think defensively we're solid, but offensively we don't create and score enough.
"So it's good for us to open that account, and we're really working hard every day to see if we can open up that account and that part of the game. I'm pleased with that, I'm pleased with the guys doing a lot of work to make that happen.
"It changed the momentum again in the game. It gave us the confidence that we needed to keep building and to keep creating and to keep scoring goals, because that third goal was decisive for us."
Even after such a convincing win, the 35-year-old still saw areas that could be improved in City's performance. He praised the goals they scored post-match, however, applauding the offensive thrust shown.
"I'm mostly delighted about the goals," he continued. "The reason that we play how we play is that we want to be offensive-minded, we want to create chances, we want to score goals.
"That is what we have to do at the end of the day, and now we can win matches. In between that there are some parts that I'm not satisfied with.
"We have to be better, and we should be better, but that's a part of football. We'll celebrate, but it's a tough business. We play again on Saturday."
